The wood has a bright, clean appearance, ranging in color from white to pale yellow, with a fine straight grain and smooth texture.

The dimensional stability of SPF, and its superior gluing properties, make it a popular material within the prefabrication industry. This species group is frequently used in the manufacturing of flat-packed modular furniture; due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, SPF is ideal for use in modular houses, trusses, exterior decking, outdoor furniture, interior finishing, boxes, and packing cases
